These rules take effect immediately upon filing with the secretary of state unless adopted under section 33, 44, or 45a(6) of the administrative procedures act of 1969, 1969 PA 306, MCL 24.233, 24.244, or 24.245a.  Rules adopted under these sections become effective 7 days after filing with the secretary of state.

R 340.1795 of the Michigan Administrative Code is amended, as follows:

 

R 340.1795 Early childhood special education teachers; special requirements.

  Rule 95. (1) An early childhood special education teacher for young children with

disabilities or developmental delay shall possess any 1 or more of the following:

    (a) An endorsement Endorsements in both special education and early childhood and special education.

    (b) A major or minor in early childhood growth education or child growth and

development and a valid Michigan teaching certificate with a special education endorsement with a full approval from the department of education.

    (c) An endorsement with a designation of ZS (in early childhood general and special education).

  (2) A teacher who has received full Full approval as a teacher of preprimary age impaired children students shall be deemed to have is full approval as an early childhood special education teacher, if the teacher possesses a valid Michigan teaching certificate.
